Lime Rice

Ingredients Required for Preparing Lime Rice

  • 5 cups water
  • 4cups rice washed
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Mustard seeds
  • 1/2cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Bengal gram
  • Split skinned black gram
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 16 green chillies chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method for Preparing Lime Rice

For preparing this recipe heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When crackling, add Bengal gram, black gram and fry till golden brown. Add curry leaves and chillies. Stir for a few seconds. Remove pan from heat and pour over cooked rice. Mix salt with lemon juice and pour over rice. Mix well and serve hot. Now your lemon rice is ready.
