Rava Dosa is a popular variant of Dosa typically made of Bombay Rava. It is crispy and very tasty to eat. It goes very well with coconut chutney and sambar. This is very famous all over South India. Now let us find out how to make Rava dosa.
Ingredients required for Preparing Rava Dosa
- Rawa (Sooji / Semolina) – 2 cups
- Rice Flour – 1 cup
- Butter Milk – 2 cups
- Onion – 1 finely chopped
- Green chilies -2 chopped
- Curry Leaves – 10 to 12 chopped
- Scraped Coconut – 1/4 Cup
- Cashew Nuts – 8 to 10
- Sodium-bi-carbonate – 1/4 Tbsp
- Salt as per the taste
- Oil – 4tbsp
Method for Preparing Rava Dosa
- Take a vassel and mix rava, rice flour, green chilies, chopped onion, curry leaves, sodium bi- carbonate, and salt in it.
- Now add buttermilk to the mixture and make a batter of medium consistency.
- Add finely chopped coconut and cashew nut to the batter.
- Leave the batter for an hour.
- Take a non-stick tawa and grease it. Pour a large spoon of batter over it. Spread the batter by swirling the griddle.
- Pour 1 tbsp of oil on and around the dosa.
- Cook till it gets crisp and golden in color.
- Now remove it from the tawa.
- Now your rava dosa is ready to serve.
- Eat it with coconut chutney and sambar.
